Michael Hasler (Partner emeritus)
Michael Hasler was born in Colombo (Sri Lanka) in 1958 and spent his first childhood years in Sri Lanka, Japan and in Australia. After 1966, he lived in the canton of Aargau and attended schools there until his high school graduation. Due to this he grew up bilingual (English and German).
After a year in which he worked, travelled and did his military service, Michael Hasler enrolled at University of St. Gallen (HSG) and studied business and economics. After successfully passing the intermediate exams, he gained practical experience and first worked at KPMG and later at STG (Schweizerische Treuhandgesellschaft). During this time, he gained insight into audit, and increasingly took an interest in the fiduciary sector. He increased his expert knowledge by becoming a Certified Fiduciary Specialist (Treuhänder mit eidg. Fachausweis) in 1992. During the subsequent years, he worked for a number of small and medium-sized firms, became self-employed as an accountant, and supported his clients mainly in accounting and taxation matters.
Since 2003 Michael Hasler has been a mandate manager at artax Fide Consult AG, and has become partner in 2012. He is a Licensed Audit Expert RAB, and among his focus areas are taxation (mainly international taxation of individuals and tax at source), audit and consolidations.
In July 2023 Michael Hasler has retired and given up his partner role. He continues to support selected clients on a part-time basis.
